RFP MD Proposal Training

WHO:

Our proposal training is ideal for any member of your firm who’s involved in winning new business through the RFP process or through unsolicited proposals. This may include business owners, proposal managers, sales or marketing executives, subject matter experts, technical writers, copywriters or designers.

Your tailored program is conducted by one of RFP MD's trainers, who will have specific experience with the type of proposals you need to submit -- commercial, government (city, state, federal), or both.

WHAT:

A comprehensive and tailored training program to give your team the tools they need to strategize, write and design winning proposals and other business development communications.

Unlike most proposal training companies—that will spend a few short hours learning about your organization and challenges, then immediately come to your facility to train your team with their “customized-to-your-company” training presentation—RFP MD’s training approach is much more comprehensive and meaningful. The curriculum for your training program is designed based on your specific needs and objectives, taking into account things such as your company’s brand personality, unique selling proposition, recent pain points, etc.

The training sessions involve a mix of oral presentations, as well as group and individual exercises, all pre-determined by your company, as you’ll help define the training course syllabus. With train-the-trainer programs, RFP MD may be contracted to custom-design training materials or manuals for your trainers and employees to refer to moving forward. Some of the topics covered in our proposal and business development training programs include:

  • When to pitch and when to pass
  • How to create an efficient proposal system at your agency
  • How to make fast friends with prospective clients
  • What to keep in mind when creating self-promotion mailers
  • When to bring in "ringers" (industry experts) to help win a pitch
  • Ways to design your proposals to make them more reader-friendly
  • The art of writing persuasively
  • How to develop a powerful executive summary
  • How to craft a comprehensive compliance checklist
  • Howto support your claims with the right kind of facts and figures
  • How to add the right amount of creativity to your RFP response
  • Recommendations for proposal and artwork DAM system software
  • How to manage your proposal team from the starting gun to the finish line
  • Strategies to make your RFP responses more client-focused
  • The importance of adhering to your agency's brand guidelines
  • How to make your case studies stand out
  • Writing in the right tone for each prospect
  • Ways to motivate and reward your pitching team
  • How to ensure feedback after a pitch
  • How to develop a knock-their-socks-off presentation once you've made the "finals"

WHERE:

RFP MD provides training either on-site at your office, or at another suitable facility of your choice. On-site training is usually much less expensive, as our trainer(s) will be coming to you.

WHEN:

RFP MD looks forward to the opportunity of providing training services to your company. Please contact us at 877.737.6341 or at (training@rfpmd.com) so we can get to know each other, discuss the objectives of your program, as well as your proposed timeline.

WHY:

There's no department in a company that needs to be more competitive than the proposal group. After all, they compete every single day of the year with their counterparts at other organizations. Every area of a proposal has to be perfectly planned and executed in order to create a winning submission.

Providing outside training to your proposal team members (and those who work with or support them) can give you a significant edge in this never-ending competition. RFP MD trainers will arm your business development employees with up-to-date best practices, as well as a variety of creative, strategic and technological approaches that will make your team (and your proposals) noticeably stronger. And with that comes more thrilling victories.
